On Saturday, 27th of October, this year’s PIN.Party took place at the Pinakothek der Moderne. IAM contributed a work by the artist Isaac Julien together with Rolls-Royce to the charity auction.

Being one of Munich’s most anticipated art events, numerous patrons and friends of the Pinakothek as well as artists and leading figures from the Munich and German art scene came together in the rotunda of Pinakothek der Moderne to „party4art“. At one end of the foyer a big stage was installed where the charity auction was held and later that evening, a dj played music to get the party started. Just minutes before the start of the auction, Isaac Julien arrived from Amsterdam. He didn’t want to miss the auction of his piece and, since he is good friends with Andrea Seehusen, enjoyed her company. Also, sitting in the crowd with artists such as Georg Baselitz and collectors like Ingvild Goetz is something that doesn’t happen every day.

As soon as the the bidding started, the prices climbed fast and by the time the auctioneer reached Lot 6, Julien’s work was ready for offers. The audience was very interested and after several bids the work gathered more than three times the value of the gallery price. Isaac Julien was extremely happy - in an interview he told the press that „he especially likes the aspect of contributing to Munich’s museums and exhibitions“.

The filmstill „Stones Against Diamonds“ is from the same titled video work, which was shown during Art Basel 2015 at Elisabethenkirche really turned out to be one of the evenings highlights and was a magnet for mobile-photos during the event.
